HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS! :)

  • Please have an organized food plan and scheduling (i.e. toys, treats, what the pets are used to, a schedule for any and all medications, your pets likes/dislikes, dispositions, words they know, etc.). Please have details planned out ahead of time and ample supplies readily available. It is a very good idea to write down notes about all details pertaining to your pets care.

  • Please have a duplicate key ready and tested to make sure it works. This will usually be given when you are sure you want to use me as your pet’s guardian. Also some houses require security codes.  Please have this worked out ahead of time as to what my personal code and password will be should the company have to call and ask in case of accidental set off.

  • Please have all maintenance done before going away; especially for all fish ponds and pumps to insure life of fish.  Should the pumps be problematic, please include solutions and maintenance person phone numbers.

  • Please have any and all information ready pertaining to cleaning services, maintenance services, and garbage days (both regular and recycling).

  • Please have emergency contact phone numbers ready.  For example, veterinarian, maintenance, and contact person’s name and number, family contacts, and/or close personal friend/neighbor in case of unforeseen unfortunate circumstances such as hurricane or illness to pet or petsitter.

  • Please have arrival and departure information (i.e., flight plan and itinerary) even if approximate.

  • Please be sure pets are up-to-date on all shots and flea medications.  If the time comes to administer flea medication while you are away, please leave date to be administered.

  • Please have designated parking information ready and passes, if needed.

  • Please provide the names of concierge if applicable.

  • FOR BEST RESULTS, PLEASE PLAN EARLY. FOR THE BEST CARE AND IN THE INTEREST OF YOUR PET, IT IS BEST TO PLAN YOUR TRIP AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE AND HAVE THINGS AS ORGANIZED AS POSSIBLE.

  • For best results, please leave sink, garages, and litter boxes clean to avoid ants, bugs and flies and other Florida critters from surprising me or you on your return.

HURRICANE SEASON: JUNE - OCTOBER

  • Please have above numbers handy and a plan in case of hurricane and/or emergency evacuation.  Providing phone numbers of possible shelters you use and/or like, your vet, a close family member, and/or friend is a good idea in case of an emergency. My BFF Pet Sitting will leave an Emergency form to be filled out.
  • Please visit Hurricane preparation page for more information: Hurricane Preparation

  • Please have all needs up-to-date, i.e. water, flashlights, batteries, generator, etc.

  • In addition, a good rule of thumb is the "what to do in case of". For example, illness to pet, emergency, power outages, cleanups, everyday aspects of your life and your pet’s life I would need to know about are very important to me!!  I am here to serve you and do what it is you prefer while you are away.  It is different for each client.  It is most successful when clients have the details organized and thought-out ahead of time!
